Conner is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee where he graduated from Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences. He then went on to graduate Cum Laude from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Conner received his doctorate from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2020. While in optometry school, he was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, Student Volunteers of OptometricServices to Humanity (SVOSH), and SCO Student Ambassadors. Conner completed clinical externships at Coastal Vision Center in Fernandina Beach, Florida;SouthEast Eye Specialists in Knoxville, Tennessee; and The Eye Center inMemphis, Tennessee. Conner was awarded the SCO Outstanding Clinician Award for2020.
After graduation, Conner completedhis Residency in Ocular Disease/Refractive and Ocular Surgery at OklahomaMedical Eye Group in Tulsa. During his residency, Conner received advanced clinicaltraining focused on ocular disease, perioperative surgical care, anteriorsegment procedures, and lasers. Conner also assisted in clinical instructionfor optometry interns and medical residents.
Following residency, Conner joinedan ophthalmology practice in Fayetteville, North Carolina and served theFayetteville/Fort Bragg community with medical eye care while his wife, Dr.Samantha Kapperman, completed her active-duty service as an optometrist andofficer with the United States Army at Fort Bragg. In 2021, Conner achievedDiplomate of the American Board of Optometry and Fellowship of the AmericanAcademy of Optometry.
In his free time, Conner enjoystraveling, cooking, playing pickleball, and struggling to play golf. He is anavid Tennessee Vols fan. Conner and Samantha are excited to call Chattanoogatheir home.
